With sustainability as a core value, Comax recognises the urgent global need to make meaningful changes to minimise impact on the environment. By investing in electric vehicles, the company aims to make a tangible difference in reducing greenhouse gas emissions while simultaneously setting an example for others in the industry.

Based out of Comax head office in Ringwood, the new van is set to deliver to customers across the new forest and local coastal areas. The vehicle will be charged by electricity generated by their own renewable energy solar panels and REGO (Renewal Energy Guaranteed Origin) certified electricity supply. As part of the introduction of EV’s to their fleet, Comax have also installed two charging points for use by staff & visitors.

The electric van, a Maxus eDeliver 9, is capable of up to 179 miles per charge with great recharge times, offering not only a sustainable option but one fit for practical use within the business.

"We are thrilled to introduce our first electric van into our fleet," said Greg Prowse, sales director at Comax. "This acquisition aligns perfectly with our commitment to sustainability and represents a significant step towards reducing our carbon footprint. We are dedicated to making a positive impact on the environment and in turn helping our customers to reach their own sustainability goals.”

Over the last 30 years Comax has grown to become one of the largest wholesalers in the South-central region, trusted by customers across a broad range of industries, including hospitality, commercial cleaning, care and schools.

As part of its sustainability drive, Comax has implemented several initiatives to their operation, and for customers, to minimise their environmental impact. This includes multiple sustainable solutions including, a customer carbon forecast tool, carbon offset partnership and product award scheme. Comax also proudly donated over 4,500 reusable cups to remove the need for single use plastic at Ringwood Town Council events and regularly donate surplus tableware from their showroom to local charities.
